Marengit – Meringues

Tässä herkullinen, nopea, edullinen ja vähärasvainen herkku.

RAPEAT SUKLAAMARENGIT

2 munanvalkuaista
1,25 dl sokeria
3 dl murskattuja cornflakeseja
125 g tummaa suklaata rouhittuna
2 rkl kaakaojuomajauhetta koristeluun

1. Vatkaa munanvalkuaiset vatkaimella kovaksi vaahdoksi. Lisää sokeri vähitellen ja vatkaa kunnes sokeri on liuennut joukkoon ja vaahto on napakkaa ja kiiltävää.
2. Sekoita joukkoon suklaarouhe ja cornflakesit.
3. Laita taikinasta leivinpaperin päälle pieniä kekoja.
4. Paista 160C n. 25-30 min.
5. Siivilöi vähän kaakaojauhetta koristeeksi marenkien päälle.

CRISPY CHOCOLATE MERINGUES

2 egg whites
1/2 cup (125 g / 4 oz) caster sugar
1 1/4 cups (35 g / 1 1/4 oz) cornflakes, crushed
125 g (4 oz) dark chocolate, finely chopped
2 tablespoons drinking chocolate, for dusting

1. Preheat oven to warm 160C(315F / Gas 2-3). Line oven tray with baking paper.
2. Using electric beaters, beat egg whites in small bowl until stiff peaks form. Add sugar gradually and beat until sugar has dissolved and mixture is thick and glossy.
3. Using a spoon, fold the cornflakes and chocolate gently into the egg white mixture and stir until well combined. Spoon 2 heaped teaspoons of the meringue mixture on prepared baking tray 2 cm apart.
4. Bake 25-30 min or until dry and firm to touch. Dust meringues with sifted drinking chocolate while still hot.
