Yksi hurmaava kuja – One charming street

In the summer my husband, our baby and I made a little two day trip to Wales to a little village called Hay-on-Wye. I found this absolutely charming little street and of course had to document it. Some of the doors of these terraced houses were two part door – you can open the top part of the door whilst the bottom stays closed and look outside (reminded me of horses in their boxes :). One old man was observing us and I said to him that it must be lovely to live surrounded by all these flowers! He agreed.

Materials: Lily Bee Design: patterned paper & journaling tag – Sizzix: chandelier & chair stamp & mannequin & button – Prima: tile mask – Tim Holtz: Washi tape – Marianne Design: crocheted flower – Fancy Pants: alphabets – Making Memories: alphabets, Kaiser Craft: stamps, Martha Stewart: punch, Rico Design: Structure Paste, Stampin’ Up!: Linen thread & ink & scallop edge punch, Other: Dymo, gesso, sewing machine & random fabric scraps, fibers, paper flowers, doily.

The back ground is made by first applying a layer of gesso on a patterned paper. Then using a mask some structure paste. I also added some stamping with a couple of background stamps and subtle colored ink. After doing all this it was typically mostly covered with other stuff which often seems to happen – you spend lots of time on creating the background but in the end only see a fraction of it.

Värimaailmasta tuli ihan erilainen kuin alunperin ajattelin. Lily Been paperit sopivat tähän kuvaan erittäin hyvin ja tykkään kovasti lopputuloksesta.

The colors in this layout are different from what I had originally thought. Again typical for me – the finished project always looks completely different from my original plan :). Anyway, I just love the Lily Bee papers and they work so well with this photo!
