Silloin kun olin nuori eikä ollut perhevelvoitteita matkustelin paljon. Halusin mennä maailman kaukaisimpiin kolkkiin ja oudoimpiin paikkoihin. Hyvin usein ihailin ovia, erilaisia ovia eri maissa. Oli yksityiskohtaisesti koristeltuja sekä kuluneita ja rapistuneita. Kaikki silti kauniita ja mielenkiintoisia. Halusin tällä kertaa tallentaa yhden oven Tunisiasta. When I was young and didn’t have too much of family commitments I used to travel a lot. I always wanted to go to the strangest places in the most distant countries. In so many places that I visited I admired the doors, different kinds of doors. Some ornate and artistic, some worn out with cracked paint. All of them beautiful and fascinating! I wanted to document one of the doors from Tunisia. This layout is also posted in Merly Impressions blog today!

Aloitin sivun tekemisen taustasta. Leimailin sinne tänne avain- sekä ruudukkoleimoilla käyttäen kahta eri mustetta, mustaa ja vaaleanruskeaa. Leikkelin kuviopaperista lukkoja ja avaimia ja liimailin ne taustaan ikään kuin ne sataisivat ylhäältä. Lippunauhan tein Sizzixin stanssilla.
I first started to create the background using the keys stamp and the grid stamp stamping around rather randomly on the super good quality cardstock. There are two different colors of ink used, black and light brown. I fussy cut some keys and locks out of patterned paper and glued them onto the card stock as if they were falling down like a rain of keys. I made the banner with patterned paper and some pearls.
Paperikukkia värjäsin hieman mustesuihkeilla.
I used some spray ink to tint the flowers a bit.

The title ‘Doors’ is made with alphabet stickers. I doodled little black frames on the alphabets I used. The journaling strips is something that I quite often make for my layouts. They are easy to ink to match the colors of the layout. If you want to know more about making your own, you can find my tutorial in my blog here.
